Looking for the best gyro in Cincinnati? Authentic? Fresh, not frozen? The real deal?
Okay, I’ll let you in on a little secret if you promise not to tell all your friends and family.
There’s this tiny little place on the corner of Glenway and Sidney (west side) called Sebastian’s. It’s not only got the best gyro in town, it’s got the friendliest and best service you’ve ever had. Really, no kidding.
The gyro is is so good it practically makes you weep. It’s made from razor thin meat (with just the right amount of crispy) shaved off a twirling spit and served on a soft pillow of warm pita with tomatoes, onions and homemade tzatziki sauce.
It’s pure, authentic deliciousness brought to your table by a friendly, competent waitress within 2 minutes of being ordered. She doesn’t forget anything. Everything is there at once, including the extra sauce. No waiting for fries or a drink while you eat your sandwich.
And all the while, hungry customers place their orders at the tiny counter as owner, Alex, shaves meat with a practiced hand and sit-down-regulars enjoy a mouthfull of authentic Greek gyro heaven.
No wonder the place has been in business for so long (since 1976). I hope I can find a seat the next time I’m over that way. And remember….DO NOT TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY! Click Here for Sebastian’s website, menu, recipes, hours and address
