Recipe: Best Ever Butter Cookies With Buttercream Icing
Repeat after me. Butter is good. Butter is great. Yay, butter!
If you’re looking for a good butter cookie recipe for the holidays, try this one. It’s a slightly modified version of an old recipe I found in a vintage cookie book (my favorite kind).
It’s quick, fun and will have your holiday sweet tooth singing in no time. (Click on any photo to enlarge)
Shape dough into pecan sized balls
Press indentation in each cookie with thumb or finger
Bake for 9-10 minutes in 365 degree oven – don’t over-brown
Indent again while hot with (vegetable peeler?) whatever’s handy
Remove to paper to cool. I use newspaper. It’s cheap.
Frost with buttercream and sprinkle with colored sugar
