Make some. Peanut butter lovers in your house (or office) will love you for it.
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Ooey Gooey Bars
Ingredients
Crust:
1 package Duncan Hines Butter Golden cake mix.
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 stick butter, melted
2 large eggs
Filling:
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
Topping:
1/2 roll Pillsbury Peanut Butter refrigerated cookie dough (freeze remaining half for next time)
Peanut Butter Icing:
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-3 Tab milk, cream or condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter bottom of a 13 X 9 metal pan.
1. For the crust, place the cake mix, peanut butter, butter, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Batter will be thick. Spread evenly in pan.
2. For the filling, place the chocolate chips and condensed milk in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir until chips are melted. Or, put the chips and condensed milk in a large microwave-safe bowl in the microwave oven on high power for 1 minute. Stir in the vanilla.
3. Pour the chocolate mixture over reserved crust, and spread so that it reaches the edges of the pan. With your fingertips, crumble the cookie dough over the top of the filling. Place the pan on the middle rack of the oven.
4. Bake bars until they’re golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes. While they’re baking, mix the icing ingredients together. Remove the pan from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle icing randomly over top, allow bars to cool completely. Cut into 24 ooey gooey bars and let the gobbling begin!
